Hawfinch having a bath.
The hawfinch is a shy species and difficult to observe. It spends its life mainly in the higher branches of trees, and rarely falls to the ground, only to feed on seeds and drinking. It was midsummer when I could photograph this specimen from a hide located near a pond, in the middle of an old deciduous forest.
