Mammals. They awaken in us such passion and love perhaps because we ourselves belong to this group of animals.
The diversity of mammals is astonishing, from the tiny field mouse to the big blue whale. And they have occupied almost all habitats on Earth, from deserts to oceans, through trees and air.
But the most charismatic species of mammals are also usually the most timid and intelligent, especially in Europe and those parts of the world where mankind has hunted massively since time immemorial. This is why photographing specimens of mammals in the wild is often a difficult task, except in so emblematic regions such as equatorial Africa, where much of the photographs in this gallery were taken. But there are also here wild mammals from other parts of world, and even some domestic mammals, which also deserve to be portrayed.
