Great spotted woodpecker "drumming".
The strong and long-range drumming is one of the best known features of this bird. The great spotted woodpecker hits with extraordinary speed, and at short 12 intervals, the surface area without bark of a dead tree or hollow. It is curious that this bird has fondness for a certain tree and comes to it to "drum" one and once again. Both sexes drum and its significance could be purely a loving call between members of a couple. It is surprising how, during the drumming, it appears a lot of sawdust from the trunk being "mistreated" by the bird.
