And is that birds are so close, and yet distant, to us. The sight of birds has been all around with us forever. They are the animals that are best left to see, but not touch. Their striking variety of morphologies and colors attract us. The songs of songbirds evoke the return to Mother Nature, the bird migrations announce the change of seasons, and of course, their flights make us dream of flying feelings of freedom, not without some envy.
There are about 10,000 species of birds. In this gallery you can admire majestic raptors, small and colorful songbirds, elegant herons and waterfowl, striking Coraciiformes, woodpeckers, etc.. There are many portraits, but also photos that show the birds in their habitat, seeking the beauty of the landscape. Many of these photos are a product of my ornithological passion.
About the order following these photographs: after some introductory photos, I try to follow an adaptation of the most commonly accepted systematic orders.
